Normally a beautiful castle. But it took us two attempts before we could visit. Since last admission was 3:30 p.m. the first time and we were at the castle at 3:39 p.m.

Excellent day trip in the Kaiserslautern area. Park downtown Landstuhl and wear sneakers or hiking shoes.

A beautiful ruined castle. Unfortunately, the signs to the ruin are a bit small for local unfamiliarity. We hadn't always found all the signs and we had driven up the mountain by feeling. One path leads through a residential area, there are definitely better accesses here. I think the entrance fee, which was used to preserve the castle, is absolutely fine. Unfortunately, there were no guided tours due to the Corona regulations. There was a nice and good gastronomy at the foot of the ruin with a perfect view of the landscape. All in all a very nice trip. There is enough parking space for cars at the foot of the castle.

Dragged all the way up to miss the last admission at 3:30 p.m., because the opening times of the Burgschänke (6:00 p.m.) are displayed on the Internet instead of those of the castle. A little disappointing.

Interesting castle or castle ruins that can be reached by a short hike. Signage was perfectly fine for us. Were there in October (last entry at 3:30 pm). There is also a tavern next to the castle. The ruin has potential ... Maybe a simple exhibition in the large vault to match the story / siege? Or amateur theater in the castle in summer? A short visit is definitely worth it! Toilets in the castle.

It was nice only in bad weather the entrance could have been cheaper. Since you were mostly outdoors and not so nice when it rains.

A beautiful castle steeped in history. I would have liked a little more display boards or explanations. But from here you have a great view of the surroundings.

Nice castle tucked away in the hills. The small bar had really cool staff. Will definitely go back for a beer.

A small, but well-preserved and well-kept castle ruin, beautifully located, wonderful view of the Sickingen town of Landstuhl. Right next to it a beer garden with a restaurant. Good middle-class food, price-performance ratios are okay, hiking trails are well signposted.

Beautiful Castle with an amazing view of Landstuhl. Family friendly due to the castle being not huge and nothing breakable is in sight. The size of the castel is just enough to offer enough walking to get kids tired while exploring each corner of the castle. Parents don't have to worry about kids breaking something since everything is out of stone and the castle itself is basically a sturdy old structure. Eine schöne Burg die kinder freundlich ist und durch die größe benötigt man keinen ganzen tag. Es ist ein perfektes Ausflugsziel mit Kindern!

Beautiful burgt, only little information about what happened in which place in the past.

Unfortunately, there was an event during my visit and it was not open to the public. I think current activities and opening times should be available online. So I could only see it from the outside. At the top of the castle there is also a restaurant, which I did not visit because of the occasion and because of the inspection. There is a hotel with a restaurant and a cafe nearby.

Nice hike around Nanstein. Shady with some hills.

I and a buddy visited here in 1955. There were two young women with us. It was totally free at that time with few people visiting. We had a nice time. It sounds so different now. We were stationed at Landstuhl Medical Center. This was the begging of so many trips all over Germany and Western Europe. I was 18 at that time. Within 12 months we were able to visit Berlin when there was no wall. I was so lucky to be there when Americans were free from war. The medical center was built in 1953 when America feared war with the USSR. In 1958 our medical unit was sent to Lebanon but I was all ready back home by then.
Eh, it's a castle with some decent views. Nothing super interesting or fantastic even for a history buff like myself. It gives a JUST a smidge of background. It's something to do if you're REALLY bored though...🤷🏾♀️
